The Ford Island Bridge 10K Run was held on April 5, 2008 at 7A. The race is precedeed by the releasing of colored doves that fly away into the blue skies. This years race had over 1000 entries. The weather was perfect as the race started on a sunny slightly windy morning. The race course had several water stops around the island going down the brindge CW around Ford Island till the last mile is up the bridge to Richardson field finish line. Refreshements this year included Power Aid, water, bannanas, bread, ice cream and popsicles.

The awards are bowls to the age division winners and Hawaiian wood statues statues to the top woman and mens winners. Everyone relaxed under a tent out of the sun for the award ceremony.

Awards are given out in 5 year age division catagories by the race director Rodney who has been putting on this top 10K for over 10 years. The Navy MWR should be commended for its outstanding service to the sports community in Hawaii by sponsoring such a safe and outstanding race. Walkers and runners enjoy this special yearly event.
