I had to fix a leaky pipe under my sink 2 months ago. Something under the sink had been driping and I let it do that util the puddle got so big it showed itself one day on the kitchen floor. It was then that I decided that the leak had to be found and fixed. It was a lucky day for me because of what I discoved.

I discoved that my all in one kitchen hose for hot and cold water had a tygon tube that was coated in green chlorine and had a very black moldy spot that had corroded away to form a pinhole leak. I looked at this hose and I knew I had to replace it and I did but I was alarmed at the quality of water that I had been drinking for years. Chlorine was supposed to kill the bacteria and enough of it is put in our water supply to do so. Within a week, I bought a water filter for the shower, the kitchen sink and the bathroom sink. The water is refreshing and pure. It makes a big difference in my daily life. There is a 6 month filter replacement that needs to be done to replace filters once they are fully contaminated. I will have an article about that as a health tip when I reach that point. Drinking filterd and purified water is the best decision I have made this year. It is funny to think it happened because of a leaky pipe.
